Analysis:
Jane is a
type of unprepared person because when she needs something and urgent, she only
borrows her friend (Helen), she not prepares what her need in her work, before
she goes to office. On the other hand, Helen is a type of a prepared person and
she is helpful. Because she always have anything that her need to work and she
also help Jane when Jane need anything.
From the
conversation above, Helen feel disturbed with Jane’s action and Jane not feel
disturb Helen so she enjoy when borrow anything to Helen. Here Jane’s use
lengthening vocal “please ::: (as in 3 &16) that actually Jane wants
attempt to Helen so she lend her thing to Jane. Then Helen’s getting annoyed is
supported as in her stressing tone “WHy” (as in 8) and of coURSE (as in 11),
which implies that Helen dejected with Jane’s action, because she feel that
Jane began disturb her with borrow any thing to her. Jane’s proved her stressing
tone “, THanks” (as in 12) and “THank
you so mUCH” (as in
18), which implies that Jane feel happy because Helen lend her thing that her
need. Here Jane has consideration use pauses (0,1) (as in 9) it is implies she
need 1 second to think before giving judgment of her choice to borrow the pen
with black ink. Then the overlapping occurs when Jane says “raining” (as in22)
at the same time of Helen’s answer “yes it is” (as in 23).It’s implies that
Jane’s utterances has form a question, the function is as the information to
Helen. While Helen’s replay is Also Form a answering question but it’s
functions is as agreement to Jane’s statement. Then Jane also shows her wary to
out her voice, and considers producing her voice by implying with short hesitation
“. . .” (as in 3,9,15,16,19 and 25).
The
adjacency pair of the conversation above are: Jane is request (she always borrow
anything from Helen), Helen is helping (she lend anything which is Jane’s need).A
sequence of two utterances by different speakers in conversation. The second utterances is a response to the first utterances. Jane’s utterance has the
form as call to Helen,
then Helen’s
reply is also in the form of answer
the question but it’s
functions is as reply
to Jane’s
call.
“Helen” as calling (as in 1) and “yes” as reply to Jane’s calling (as in 2).As
request
to Helen
with flattery shown
lengthening (as in 3) and Helen’s response with friendly (as in 4). Helen feel disturb with Jane’s
action shown with imitate Jane’s voice when she borrow anything (as in 29-33).
